The role is accountable for all areas of business enablement to drive the adoption of the HCM Cloud solution; organisation design, position mapping, including change management, business readiness assessment, training, implementation of change impacts, super user networks and communication activities.
The core purpose of the role is to ensure that required business; reporting and organisational changes are properly identified, managed and implemented – including those associated with peripheral systems and interdependencies with parallel work streams and projects. The role will provide functional leadership across five specific areas: business readiness assessment, organisation design impact assessment, business adoption, change management and training methodologies.
This role will support Business Transformation Readiness, Adoption and Transitions activities in line with the established methodologies and tools, embedding the business strategies, operating model, objectives and value drivers for the MTN Boost HCM Priority Track.
This role is also instrumental in delivery of process centric solutions utilising an MTN / Oracle Cloud ERP solution (Cloud). This role is accountable for the implementation of Cloud and the associated process centric solutions.
In this capacity, this role delivers business knowledge, technical knowledge and analytical support of Oracle modules and process centric solution across operational environments. The incumbent is accountable to provide high-level functional analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex matters that require extensive knowledge of MTN’s processes subject matter and business operations to ensure effective implementation.
This role is further accountable for the functional end-to-end design, build and deployment in the implementation of the MTN Cloud ERP solution and supports the design, build, integration, training and testing of the area by partnering with business stakeholders to meet required timelines with approved resources.
The position will interface with the MTN Group functions, MTN OpCo’s, Vendors (such as Oracle) and Service Delivery functions at the SSH (not limited to) in an effective and efficient manner.

Organisational Development:
Drive mapping of current state and future state of the organisation structure and positions
Drive the Training, Stakeholder Engagement, Communication, Validation and User support elements of the HCM Priority Track
Leads business adoption and integrated stakeholder experience for the HCM Priority Track deployment
Develop the require adoption methodology and tools to enable the OpCo teams to understand and drive adoption
Perform Business Readiness Assessment, having the objective to assess OpCo readiness across; process, data and system for the transformation journey
Plan, develop, and coordinate change strategies; identify integration points with other adoption efforts
Drive mapping of current state and future state of the organisation structure and positions – Support the HCM Teams to identify, develop, plan, scope and implement the appropriate approach for the Business Readiness
Work with the Business Adoption team to identify and mitigate risks associated with the Business Readiness activities.
Support in developing Business Readiness initiatives with OpCo and Boost team
Support Business and Process Team to ensure Adoption based on the outcome from the Business Readiness initiatives
Support in driving and monitoring the readiness initiatives
Partner with Data and IT on Business Readiness activities and assess the impact on the Business Processes
Provide support/input to business readiness, adoption plan and communication
Construct and implement actionable and targeted change management plans – including stakeholder analysis, communications planning, change impacts, change agent network, and training strategy and plans.
The individual will need to engage with OPCOs and Projects to ensure alignment and communication of release schedules, this includes the active identification and mitigation of risks.
Resolution of risks and issues identified

HCM Deployment:
The Lead Specialist OD and HCM fulfills the following accountabilities and responsibilities in relation to the HCM deployment:
Ensure a successful adoption of the MTN BOOST (Back Office Operations Standardisation & Transformation) program at an OpCo level.
Manage the “Super Users” before, during and after going Live, ensuring a pro-active approach towards resolution of Go Live impacts

Accountable for the assessment of any interdependencies on relevant processes, compliance and structure before, during and after Go Live
Accountable for OpCo business readiness assessment on an on-going basis and escalate any critical impediments to Go Live.

Accountabilities include:
Collaborate with stake holders to gain insight and understanding of the current end-to-end process (Global Template). Correlate information and develop system solution recommendation to meet business requirements.
Support the specific process build and design working with other subject matter experts outside of HCM.
Partner with key stakeholders to help define their needs and support projects for Oracle Applications Roadmap as the Oracle Functional HCM SME; including eliciting, participating in documenting and analyzing requirements, contributing to solution design, completing application configuration, data collection and data governance, data migration rules and compliance, performing testing, assisting with data collection, interface and extension requirements, report requirements and pre- go-live support.
Partner with core process leads and business stakeholders to validate the integration of core business processes. Work closely with IT and Oracle Functional Leads to validate the accuracy of system integration and help test system interfaces during show and tell sessions.
Review training courses for impacted stakeholder groups. Facilitate training evaluation and remediation when called upon.
Support the Business Adoption team in readiness activities to prepare for end to end process go live. Communicating key messages and provide feedback.
Provide the data functional specification and data design process within the team.
Define and defend the global template and implementation of standard, end-to-end, functional processes to be rolled out to the OpCo.
Consult with Group Stakeholders, OpCo Operational Experts/Functional Leads, Group Experts/Policy Owners, System Integrator, Technology Provider (Oracle) to optimise the deployment.
Consult relevant experts on tax, legal, statutory and regulatory (incl: data) issues to ensure compliance
Provide guidance in the development and maintenance of standard global processes, ensuring alignment in the approach/standards (as per SI and Business Assurance methodology) of design principles and business requirements
Review and provide input to process training content and support for deployment in accordance with the overall training methodology
Critical integration with UAT conducted in conjunction with the OpCo – “Super User”

Support the review and monitoring of the impact of the end-to-end process on OpCo
Accountable to define and monitor process performance metrics
Support the Business Readiness Check (BRC) and define and action plan to close any gaps identified.
Support the Business Readiness Review (BRR) to confirm that all the identified gaps have been closed.
Gather and document all Tax, Legal and Statutory requirements per OpCo, and incorporate it into processes and system build – this is a design KPA
Provide input into training content as required by the Training team and support as and when required
Participate in the Business Impact Assessment (BIA) to get a view of dependencies, business risk considerations, and performance requirements.
Ensure that there is a monitoring mechanism to validate that all User Acceptance Testing (UAT) has been adequately carried out and signed off by all impacted parties.
Engage with all stakeholders constantly to quickly and accurately identify the root cause of any issues or problems to minimize delays/slippages.
Ensure successful adoption of the Cloud Fusion solution across the relevant business areas
Play an active role in supporting the OpCo during post-Go Live

Report to Management relating to progress made within the department and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the management
Report on specific projects as per the defined timelines
Report on an adhoc basis on specific projects, as required.

Job Requirements


  • Minimum 3-year Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Computing or Business & Information Technology would be beneficial
  • Oracle Cloud certification would be an advantage


  • Organisation Design and Workforce Transition experience
  • Experience managing and delivering change, training and communications on multiple, global ERP transformations.
  • End to end project management experience (initiation and design through to delivery) Proven track record of stakeholder management skills with an understanding of both IT and Business functions
  • Experience in managing a large multinational team (could also be a virtual team)
  • An in-depth knowledge of business enablement & implementation activity within an operational environment
  • Compliance/Audit background
  • Experience in continuous improvement
  • Service Management experience in Telecom industry would be an advantage
  • Experience of Business Readiness Check and Business Readiness Review methodology
