At MTN GlobalConnect we are creating the largest pan African Infraco and largest PaaS (platform as a services). The Senior Manager Strategic Partnerships & New Business Development will be accountable to support the GM Strategy & Business Development for the design, development and implementation of strategic partnerships and other new growth opportunities to achieve GlobalConnect’s strategic ambitions.

The Senior Manager Strategic Partnerships & New Business Development will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

  • Identify (global, regional, local) partners that will accelerate the strategic execution and/or gives MTN GlobalConnect access to new revenue streams
  • In close cooperation with Strategic Planning (PMO) and Business Owners identify untapped business areas (What, why, how & when)
  • Develop, manage and use adequate BI/Data Value Engineering capabilities and strategic research for reporting, analytics and value creation/protection
  • Establish strong strategic rationale with a 365-degree approach for developing and maximizing business cases (partnerships and new business development)
  • Coordinate/ close partnership deals in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and MTN GlobalConnect Management
  • Provide in-depth due diligence of strategic fit, financial impact, future growth prospects taking into account the risk appetite of GlobalConnect

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree
  • Post graduate qualification (MBA/CA/Masters) preferred
  • English required; French (as advantage)


  • 8-10 years of experience across strategy, business development, finance or other relevant functional areas
  • Minimum 5 years managerial experience in telecommunications industry
  • Work across diverse cultures and geographies
  • Proven track record of business development
