The Analyst: Pricing is responsible for supporting with implementation the of Pricing Strategies, Business Case and Price models for Group Finco. The role will support across all aspects of pricing including input into product design, assumption setting, modelling, competitor benchmarking, and experience monitoring.

The role will interface with relevant stakeholders (GMs, CVM Managers and Brand & Marketing among others), to ensure effective and efficient pricing operations.

Fintech is entering a new phase where operational and commercial excellence has become critical for success. A separate Company has been set up to drive financial products and services to expand the reach and speed of operations. There is an increased focus in the commercial areas, new products and services and scaling up of Digital capabilities. The incumbent must therefore ensure the successful delivery in context of:

Operational Delivery

  • Collaborate with relevant OpCo stakeholders in the execution of product pricing and pricing plans
  • Provide input to the development of pricing strategic guidelines, modelling tools and processes with the objective to facilitate the decision-making process
  • Track customer product activity to enhance effective pricing strategies for Group Finco products and services
  • Assist relevant Product teams & Opcos where required in rationalizing price plans
  • Assist leadership in developing business cases, product specifications and business rules in line with Group Finco strategy
  • Support in the identification and definition of key opportunities to recommend pricing for existing products to deliver value to each consumer segment and behaviour
  • Assist leadership in identifying, analysing and exploring opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used network infrastructure to achieve full efficiency and ROI from Group Finco resources
  • Monitor and analyse trends in Group Finco spending and inventory control in order to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings and/or asset optimization
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis across all OpCos. Monitor market events and capture, store and track product /service pricing information to provide insight and data to support management decision-making
  • Use market analysis data, customer satisfaction data and internal service costing data to support value-based pricing and pricing strategies, in collaboration with relevant OpCo stakeholders, product owners and finance counterparts

Governance

Ad-hoc Meetings

  • Participate and provide inputs in ad hoc meetings
  • Execute day-to-day operations

Reporting

  • Collate and prepare appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly activity and financial performance reports, in accordance with the measurement metrics set by management, for the attention of management
  • Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of management

Escalations

  • Resolve escalations as per defined escalation / resolution procedures; and
  • Notify escalations to senior specialist that have impact on critical path of service delivery or that will result in significant time, scope, employee/customer or cost impacts if not resolved.

Function Tactical

  • Participate in adhoc and operational meetings
  • Participate and provide input into tactical meetings as and when required
  • Report at process level

Performance

  • Assist in monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the performance and quality of products and services in line with defined functionalities and specifications
  • Assist with monitoring and reviewing the performance of external partners against agreed KPIs and SLAs, escalating risks to management
  • Ensure effective execution of day-to-day operations and resolve operational issues as they arise
  • Improve productivity and quality through leading practice initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • 3-year Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or related field required

Experience:

  • 2 – 3 years of experience in relevant finance/pricing role
  • Minimum of 1 -2 years’ experience in product management, pricing analysis and value pricing within the financial sector, banking industry, telecommunications industry
  • Experience working in a medium to large organization
  • Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges
  • Knowledge of data science trends, architectural components, and platforms
  • Experience in digital platforms and electronic payment business is advantageous
  • Understanding of emerging markets advantageous
